Mike Shea

Mike is Rhythm’s lone* father and type 1 diabetic. While he spends a fair amount of time raising his son Luis and yelling at neighborhood kids to get off his lawn, he still manages to find time to train and race. Mike is a born and bred Chicagoan and will call out anyone not from “Chicago” who claims anything different. Similar to one of Rhythm’s other Chicagoans, Mike spends his days enriching the lives of local youth as a teacher at the award winning Kenwood Academy. When he is not teaching, racing, or playing with his son, Mike enjoys slaying dragons. Mike aspires to a life of general satisfaction with a smattering of excellence. Mike’s goal for the season is to learn how to race, which is somewhat worrisome as he is a Cat 3. You can find Mike racing the 3’s (ahem, Masters) during the fall.

*This fact has been disputed by multiple team members, however, no proof has been brought forth so far.
